Most therapists assume that they’re getting better over time. It’s really difficult to know this for sure unless there’s some type of measurement. When it comes to therapy the most effective measurement is the client themselves. No one has a better sense of the client’s progress than the client.

That’s why client outcome feedback is so important to individual session and to your cumulative career development as a therapist. Collecting outcome data provides vital information about where you are and where you want to get to. Without it, much of the time you’re just guessing.
